The Watering Hole

This is a typical source of water for the villagers in northern Ghana. Animals use it as freely as people – for drinking, for wading, for washing. No wonder it’s so murky! And no wonder that half of the children in this region die from preventable diseases before they are six years old.

That said, aren’t you impressed by these beautiful girls who carry such full loads on their heads for more than half a mile? =) Could you do it? I couldn't!
